The department of journal publication, founded in December 2010, is one of the directly affiliated unit of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) . At present, the department has 34 faculty members including 1 president and branch secretary of CPC, and 2 vice presidents. The department has established an editorial team with professional title, high educational background and excellent professional quality, with which 11 of the faculty members have a senior title, 16 of the faculty members have a doctor’s degree.
The department of journal publication currently has seven academic journals: the Journal of Earth Science（JES）, the Journal of Earth Science English Version, the Social Sciences Edition Journal of China University of Geosciences, the Geological Science and Technology Information, the Safety and Environmental Engineering, the Chinese Journal of Engineering Geophysics, and the Journal of Gems and Gemmology.
The department persists in taking the dominant disciplines and characteristic disciplines of the university as the academic support of the journals, actively promotes the internationalization and digitization of the journals, takes the quality of the journals as the department lifeline, and strives to establish a perfect quality control and scientific management system.
The department of journal publication explores ways to integrate resources, puts social benefits first, takes economic benefits into account, and devotes to serve the construction of the university and national disciplines, personnel training and the development of industries.
