Earth Science

The Earth Science (Chinese version) (ISSN 1000-2383;CN42-1874/P), formerly known as Earth Science--Journal of China University of Geosciences (ISSN 1000-2383;CN42-1233/P), was founded in 1957, resumed in 1981, changed from bimonthly to monthly in 2014, and changed to its present name in 2015. It is a comprehensive academic journal of Geoscience, sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and published by the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). The journal mainly reflects the latest and high-level research achievements in basic geology, applied geology, resource and environmental geology and geological engineering technology in the field of earth science in China.

Since its republication, The Journal of Earth Science (Chinese version) has received more than 30 awards at the national, provincial and ministerial levels. In 2017 it was awarded the Nomination Award of the China Publishing Government Award and the 3rd Hubei Publishing Government Award. From 1999 to 2005, it was awarded the "State Periodical Award". In 2016, it was awarded the "The Top 100 Best Science and Technology periodical in Chinese universities" and “The Most Internationally Influential Academic Journal in China”. It was awarded for five years in a row “The High-quality Sci-tech Journals of Chinese Universities”, and was awarded “The High-quality Journals of Hubei Province” for many times, and the achievement award of “The 10 Top Journals of Hubei Province”. It has been awarded “The Top 100 National Science and Technology Journals” in 2013, and has been awarded the “Hubei Top 10 Journals” achievement award in 2009. In 2001, 2005 and 2006 the journal won the Ministry of Science and Technology Information “100 Outstanding Academic Journals” title.

Since 2005, the Journal of Earth Science (Chinese version) has been 100% included in the Ei Compendex database, it has also been included in the international retrieval system such as CA, РЖ, Japanese JICST, GeoRef and GeoBas at the same time. The influencing factors and cited frequency are in the forefront of the journals of science and engineering for many years.

Journal of Earth Science

     The Journal of Earth Science（JES）, founded in 1990, is a bimonthly geological journal published by China University of Geosciences for the dissemination of information about all branches of geology and associated technologies in the exploration and utilization of Earth resources. JES reports essential and original academic research results in all fields of Earth Sciences. The English version of JES was started in cooperation with the international publisher Springer in 2009, and Springer is authorized as the only publisher to globally publish the electronic version of JES.

    JES is listed or abstracted in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Chemical Abstract (CA), Abstract Journal (РЖ), Petroleum Abstracts (PA), Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA), Zoological Record (ZR), etc..
